It's Christmas Eve and I have just eaten almost an entire container of dill pickle dip. Peedge is in the kitchen whipping up the Holiday Pasta. As usual, we are in full
Todd and Margo mode, hunkering down in our decoration-less adult apartment, "celebrating" Christmas by default.
I tried to not do anything at all today but dagnabbit if
laundry didn't get in the way. It's such a two day ordeal, darks one day, whites the next. Up and down the stairs, separating, hanging to dry, folding, putting away, organizing. You know that feeling when you've finally balled the last pair of socks and you feel like, wow I nailed it, I won't have to do laundry ever again!
I talked to Edith yesterday, she got to open my present TWO full days early. I got her something she wanted, a Barbie Glam Vacation Home. I didn't even know she was into Barbie? I had one Barbie and one Ken when I was little but I don't remember ever wanting them. They were in these satiny white and gold disco outfits and the only thing I ever did with them was switch their heads around. I was really more of a Jem girl- at least she actually did something cool with her life.
Hi, I'm Barbie, I have everything including this BEAUTIFUL pink DREAM vacation house with a flat screen tv that I can watch MYSELF on all day on my zebra print duvet and I haven't done JACK all to earn it!!!
I checked in with my brother today, the BGVDH is still currently being played with and has not been thrown onto the Island of Unwanted Toys. Even my nephew gets to bring his superhero figures over to "hang out" with Barbie and her sexy little friends. Edith was worried that Santa might get her one too by accident and that she would have two Dream Homes to contend with. Don't worry, I assured her, Santa doesn't make those kind of mistakes! My brother thinks that she isn't really buying this whole Santa thing anyway....
Anyhoo, have a great holiday doing the things that you really love, no judgement here.
*wink*
